Classic Golden Milk Latte

A warming, anti-inflammatory latte with deep spice notes — the gold standard of turmeric drinks.

Serves: 1

Ingredients

     1 tsp turmeric powder

250 ml oat milk (or milk of choice)

     ½ tsp cinnamon

     ¼ tsp ground black pepper

     ¼ tsp ground ginger

     1 star anise

1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup

Method

1.  Warm the milk: Add oat milk to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Do not boil — warm until steaming (approx. 3 min).

2.  Add the spices: Whisk in turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger, and star anise. Stir continuously for 2 minutes.

3.  Sweeten: Remove from heat. Stir in honey. Remove the star anise.

4.  Froth and serve: Pour into your cup. Froth with a milk frother for 30 seconds. Dust with cinnamon to finish.

Tip: Black pepper is non-negotiable — piperine increases curcumin absorption by up to 2000%. Add a pinch of cardamom for extra spice.

Health Facts

Turmeric (curcumin): Potent anti-inflammatory that rivals ibuprofen in some studies. Supports joint health and reduces oxidative stress.

Cinnamon: Helps regulate blood sugar levels and supports healthy insulin response.

Ginger: Eases nausea, supports digestion, and has powerful antioxidant properties.

Black pepper (piperine): Dramatically increases curcumin bioavailability — without it, most turmeric passes through unabsorbed.
