Golden Paste Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

½ cup ground turmeric
½ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp of black pepper and a pinch of salt
½ tsp cinnamon

METHOD:

Simmer the ingredients for 7-10 minutes, until the paste thickens. Allow cooling then stir in the coconut oil. Once cooled, store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.

Heart-Warming Story

Dixie came into my life three years ago, I was her foster mum originally, but I knew pretty quickly that it was only the beginning for us. She had been surrendered to a shelter due to some issues she had with her legs. She had been hit by a car when she was a puppy, and her front legs hadn’t healed correctly meaning she had a limp and would often trip or fall over causing her joints to flare-up with inflammation and become painful and stiff.

I was meant to be fostering her for one week until the vet could do a full assessment of her legs and decide if operating would be the best course of action. She was the sweetest most gentle giant, and I knew by day three, that I wanted to adopt her and would do whatever I could to ensure she was pain-free and able to live her best doggy life.

After the vet did a full assessment, she warned me that although they could operate on her legs, it would be a costly exercise and her recovery would be slow. They also couldn’t guarantee that the operation would be successful. My parents thought I was crazy, but I knew I had to try. Two weeks later I was dropping Dixie off to have the first of the operations she had to have.

I did A LOT of research on natural remedies and alternative products that I could give her to help support her body in its recovery. Two things that kept coming back up were; Turmeric and Probiotics.
